📜 History
Ajegunle's origins trace back to the mid-20th century when workers drawn to the Lagos port and industrial zones settled in the area. The Ifelodun section has older roots tied to indigenous Yoruba settlements along the Lagos lagoon. In 1976 the two areas were merged into one LGA. Ajegunle became associated with working-class resilience and gave rise to legendary musicians including Daddy Showkey and Baba Fryo.
