📜 History
Eti-Osa was carved out as an LGA in 1991. Victoria Island was developed by the British colonial administration as an exclusive residential area for expatriates and senior officials, and this character largely persisted after independence. Ikoyi similarly developed as an elite enclave. The Lekki axis, which was largely forested peninsula until the 1990s, has since become one of the fastest-growing real estate markets in Africa, driven by private investment and the Lagos State Master Plan.
