📜 History
Ifako-Ijaiye was created as a separate LGA in 1991 from the old Agege Local Government. The Agbado area, on the border with Ogun State, has historical roots as a railway junction town dating back to the colonial construction of the Lagos-Kano railway line. The LGA's transformation into a residential zone accelerated in the 1980s and 1990s as Lagosians sought alternatives to crowded Island and central Mainland communities.
