๐Ÿ“œ History

Mushin was originally a farming settlement on the outskirts of Lagos before rapid urban migration transformed it from the 1940s onwards. It became a major destination for migrants from Yoruba and Igbo communities seeking work in Lagos. The area developed a reputation for both vibrant commerce and social challenges. In the 1970s and 80s, Mushin was associated with area boys and street gangs, but also with remarkable creative output including contributions to Jรนjรบ and Afrobeats music.
